Sportable Athlete Robin Yoder Receives Top HCA Healthcare Award

Sportable, Central Virginia’s premier adaptive sports club, is proud to announce that athlete Robin Yoder was honored during the HCA Healthcare Awards of Distinction ceremony on Wednesday and given the prestigious Frist Humanitarian Award. The award recognizes extraordinary individuals within the 250,000-member HCA Healthcare workforce who have had the highest achievements in serving others.

Sportable Announces Tailgate Matching Challenge

Sportable is proud to announce a matching challenge to celebrate the 10th Anniversary Sportable Tailgate presented by Dominion Energy. Should Sportable raise $30,000 prior to October 3, 2021, generous donors will contribute a dollar-for-dollar match, given with each threshold of $10,000 achieved, to support the organization’s mission to make sports accessible and inclusive in RVA. Sportable Celebrates 10th Anniversary Tailgate this Fall

Sportable, Central Virginia’s premier adaptive sports club, is proud to celebrate the 10th Anniversary Sportable Tailgate this fall. Dominion Energy will return as Presenting Sponsor for the fourth consecutive year. This year’s event will pay homage to the inaugural Tailgate, hosted in 2012, with a series of celebrations from September 17 through October 3.

Sportable’s signature fundraising event will unite the community with a goal to raise critical funds and awareness for Sportable’s mission to make sports accessible and inclusive for individuals with physical disabilities and visual impairments. Sportable River City Slam Starts Friday

Sportable will host the River City Slam Wheelchair Tennis Tournament, presented by The Abstract Athlete, this Friday, June 11 through Sunday, June 12. Spectators are invited to attend free of charge to watch some of the top wheelchair tennis players from Richmond and across the country compete at Collegiate School’s Robins Campus.

If you know Robin, you know that she does not let anything hold her back. An Ironman athlete, she was determined to return to athletic endeavors after losing her leg to cancer in 2010.
