Get Your Paddles Out! Kayaking is Back, Bigger and Better

Imagine this scenario. The sun is shining and the warmth envelops you as you paddle along the river with serene scenes all around. After a long winter and protracted pandemic, it sounds like a far-off dream. But thanks to generous funding from the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation National Paralysis Resource Center (PRC), Sportable will be able to offer and expand its kayaking program this spring and into summer.

CP Soccer Kicked Off in February with Special Guest

Sportable welcomed Shea Hammond, U.S. Paralympic National Team player, to lead the CP soccer clinic attended by 10 youth athletes. An 18-year old native of Montclair, NJ, Shea became the youngest member of the U.S. Paralympic National Team at age 16 and made his international debut at the World Championships in 2019. He currently attends Clemson University as a student athlete in the Clemson University Paralympic Soccer Program, a one-of-a-kind program that allows elite players to train in a 7v7 small-sided format while working toward their university degrees.

Sportable Launches Adaptive Kayaking Program

Sportable is proud to announce the spring dates for its expanded and improved adaptive kayaking program beginning in April in collaboration with Beyond Boundaries and Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation. A renewed focus on veteran kayaking will be introduced through a new partnership with Transact Capital Partners. The kayaking program is also supported by the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, which provided the funds to purchase kayaking equipment and expand the program for all Sportable participants.
