It is hard to believe that September has come and gone and we are now entering into October! Sportable is very excited to provide fun-filled special events this month, namely the Inaugural Youth Adaptive Sports Open House and our 2nd Annual Wheelchair Basketball Camp! The Youth Adaptive Sports Open House will be a one day event, held on October 12th, from 9am to 3pm, geared toward athletes of all levels and abilities! Whether you are a serious athlete or not, this is a perfect opportunity to learn about and try a variety of adaptive sports! The event is open to males and females with a physical disability or visual impairment, ranging from age 5-21. Some of the adaptive sports that will be introduced include wheelchair basketball, tennis, softball and more! Coaches and volunteers will be on staff to aide and enhance the overall experience for all participants! The cost to participate in the Youth Adaptive Sports Open House is $5.00 and includes lunch! The event will be held at the University of Richmond, so come on out to the beautiful campus and check out what adaptive sports are all about! Calling all wheelchair basketball athletes looking to improve their skills and overall game!!! Sportable is hosting its 2nd Annual Wheelchair Basketball Camp on October 12th-13th! This two-day camp will focus on developing athlete’s individual technical skills as well as team tactical awareness of the game through a variety of drills, activities and games. Our featured coach this year is knowledgeable Coach Jim Glatch who has a wealth of experience coaching top-level wheelchair basketball: Not only was Coach Glatch the Head Coach of the 2012 USA Men’s Paralympic Basketball Team, but is also Head Coach of Edinboro University Wheelchair Basketball Team!
Camp will be held on Saturday October 12th from 9am to 7pm, and on Sunday from 9am to 3pm. Lunch and dinner will be provided on Saturday along with lunch on Sunday. So come join us in this fun yet competitive environment at the University of Richmond!
