Sportable and Richmond Raceway are proud to announce an enhanced partnership that will provide a new home for adaptive road racing this fall. Sportable athletes will have access to the nearly 2.5-mile, paved tram route that traverses the picturesque 1,100 acre complex for recreational and competitive training September 28 through November 9.
“We are thrilled to have found the perfect home for our road racing program and are grateful for the generous support of the state-of-the-art Richmond Raceway Complex,” commented Hunter Leemon, Sportable Executive Director. “Providing a safe and accessible route for our road racing program will allow our athletes with physical disabilities and visual impairments to train without having to navigate vehicular traffic as they prepare for the upcoming VCU Health Richmond Marathon and partner events.”
“We are proud to welcome Sportable to the Richmond Raceway Complex as a partner,” said Richmond President Dennis Bickmeier. “Sportable continues to make a positive impact in the lives of families throughout the greater Richmond region, so we look forward to supporting their mission this fall.”
