Have you ever thought about being an athlete ambassador? The first time I was asked to speak in front of an audience was for the 9th graders at my school (Hermitage High School). It was pretty nerve-racking. I never have been a good public speaker, but when I got out there and started speaking, I thought to myself “This isn’t too bad.” You’re letting the community realize that even though you have a disability, it doesn’t stop you from doing sports.
I would strongly encourage anyone to become an athlete ambassador and be able to spread the word about all the things we are able to do even if we have a disability!
