Rising Stars Showcase January 11

RICHMOND, VA – (Monday, December 30, 2019) – Sportable, the only adaptive sports club in the Greater Richmond area, is proud to host the Rising Stars Showcase, presented by CarMax, on Saturday, on January 11, 2020. The action-packed wheelchair basketball event will feature a full day of youth and adult competition and will be hosted at the state-of-the-art SEAL Athletic Center on the campus of Collegiate School.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase all of our competitive wheelchair basketball teams in one day,” commented Sportable Executive Director Hunter Leemon. “Our youth teams, the Lil’ Spokes and the Spokes, and adult competitive team, the Rim Riders, will put on a fast-paced and entertaining display and we are grateful to our partners CarMax and Collegiate School for making this unique event possible for our participating athletes and guests.”

Doubleheaders will tip off at 9:00 a.m. when Sportable’s youngest athletes, the Lil’ Spokes, and varsity team, the Spokes, take on the Fairfax Falcons. The youth games will be followed by back-to-back adult games when nationally ranked teams, the Sportable Rim Riders and the Charlottesville Cardinals, tip off at 3:00 and 4:30 p.m.

Community leaders, supporters, and volunteers are invited to attend. Hospitality and a complimentary courtside coffee bar, courtesy of Publix Super Markets Charities, will be provided from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
