Greetings Sportable Nation!
I hope this finds everyone well and enjoying the beginning of the fall season. It is hard to believe that the summer has already come and gone. The fall brings a tremendous amount of excitement here at Sportable as we begin our fall sports season! Power Soccer & Basketball have begun and the our racing athletes are gearing up for the 8K, Half Marathon and Marathon that will be taking place on November 15th – exciting times indeed.
The one noticeable difference for Sportable this fall season is that Kristen, our co-founder and leader, has left RVA to chase the sun and opportunity in Florida. I was fortunate to have met Kristen years ago through my involvement with Sportable. Through that experience I know first-hand the level of commitment and dedication that she gave to this organization and the athletes that we serve. Her legacy of providing opportunities for athletes with physical disabilities & visual impairments is a testament to the person she is and impact she had on our community. I speak for the entire Sportable organization when I say that we are committed to continuing the incredible work that Kristen started.
As I begin my journey as Executive Director at Sportable, I want you to know that I am anxious to meet everyone who has made our journey to this point possible. In the coming weeks and months I will be reaching out to many of you. I want to personally to thank you for all that you have done for Sportable over the years – the hours and support you have so graciously given to get us here!
I want to ask for your continued participation as we journey forward and take the organization to new heights. I hope you are as excited for the future as I am – I can’t wait to get started!!!
