Sportable Strikers
By Kristen Lessig
There are few better feelings in life than watching someone play
a sport for the first time. In a world now filled with winning
percentages, signing bonuses, and holdouts, we forget just how
simple and how fun sports is supposed to be. But just look at
the smile on your sons face as he chases a soccer ball through
an open field, watch your daughter wheel away in delight after
scoring her first goal, and youll remember why we play sports
in the first place.

By Kristen Lessig
Sportable was highlighted to be the recipient of the coins tossed in the Wishing Well at Tom Leonard's Farmer's Market the week of Feb. 27th. How it works: customers throw in spare change into the wishing well and at the end of the week, Tom counts the coins and matchs the donation amount penny-for-penny!

Sportable provides Richmond power wheelchair users with a variety of sporting options
By Polly Roberts
Soccer isn't typically a sport that comes to mind as an activity for power wheelchair users. Tennis, basketball, cycling and other sports that emphasize upper body strength tend to top the list. After all, how can people who have lost the ability to use their legs play a sport that relies specifically on that function? Turns out, all it takes is a little readjusting.
